Patterns and references for your batik creations
From fish and phoenixes to lotus flowers, this collection brings the detail of Miao batik motifs into printable creative resources. Each design comes with a clear line drawing, a wax-area guide and an indigo colour reference, so you can explore the motifs and see how the waxed areas relate to the simulated colour result.
Printable practice pages and an illustrated guide in five languages give newcomers the references a single drawing cannot provide. Use them for tracing practice or for your own handmade creations. You may also sell the physical finished pieces you personally make.

Practise on paper before working with wax.
Print a page and keep the guide beside you. Follow the drawing for shapes and lines, then use the wax-area view to understand what to fill. The indigo reference helps you picture the colour result.
All five guide languages are included, so you can begin with the one you read most comfortably.

Before you begin
Where should I start as a beginner?
Choose a motif you like and begin with a small area on paper. A few curves, a border or a leaf are enough for a first drawing exercise. You can return to the rest of the pattern later.
Do I need wax, fabric or special tools to begin?
You can begin by tracing and drawing on paper. Wax, fabric and dye are only needed when you move on to wax work. This pack does not include tools, video lessons or a complete dyeing and wax-removal course.
How do the three pattern views help me?
The practice drawing helps you follow shapes and lines. In the wax guide, black marks where to apply wax and white stays unwaxed. The indigo reference is a colour simulation, not a finished textile. Practice drawings and wax maps may differ in local details.
Can I sell the handmade pieces I make?
Yes. You may sell physical handmade finished items that you personally make with these patterns. The digital files and printed pattern copies may not be shared or resold. Read the full use terms below for teaching and production restrictions.
